Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmook Juma Al Maktoum Helps Promote the Development of Bangladesh
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmook Juma Al Maktoum is a global entrepreneur who’s played his part in the development of nations while also leading them towards sustainable growth. Segments involving power, investment, financial development, energy, and infrastructure have always remained his areas of focus in his endeavour to promote harmony among nations.
The honourable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina with an aim to bring Bangladesh on the global frontier has planned a bilateral visit to the UAE. The visit will be preceded by her three-day visit to Munich, Germany, where she will join a host of global leaders from around the world. The first among many future visits in her latest term as Bangladesh’s prime Minister, experts believe the diplomacy trip would be beneficial in terms of getting the country noticed on a global level.
According to AK Abdul Momen, the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, this visit is intended to push the development of Bangladesh, which has played a pivotal role in sheltering Rohingya refugees on humanitarian grounds. Momen appeals to nations to come forward and do their part in supporting Bangladesh’s development and offer help to the Rohingyas.
The security conference that would be attended by Hasina and other elite members would be addressing the issues related to the Rohingya crisis in depth. In addition, Prime Minister Hasina is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with influential figures such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the CEOs of big corporatesin Germany such as Veridos, Jigsaw, and Siemens AG with an aim to receive more economic engagements and opportunities for Bangladesh.
This is to be followed by a visit to Abu Dhabi where Hasina would be attending the inaugural ceremony of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2019) to be held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center. Talking of the main purpose of the visit, Momen claims it willbe the expansion of trade and investment relations between the UAE and Bangladesh. To support the same, two MoUs will be signed; first between the Private office of Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum and Bangladesh Power Development Board and the second between the former and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority.
While the first one will be based on undertaking projects aimed at developing liquefied natural gas terminals, power plants and other projects of mutual interest, the second one would focus on setting up a Special Economic Zone in Matarbari over 300 acres of land.
Both the memorandums have been designed to strengthen Bangladesh’s future on one hand and solidify bonds between Bangladesh and UAE on another. Apart from meeting Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Hasina will also be meeting other influential members of the ruling family of Dubai in addition to attending a community event to be held at St Regis Abu Dhabi hotel, where she will also be staying during her visit.
